city light pole banner campaign supports cancer charity

The key to successfully promoting an upcoming event is to ensure that as many people as possible know it is happening. And what better way to do that than to communicate your message to the target audience in an innovative and eye catching way with an outdoor advertising campaign.

When Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer was looking for a way to promote their Los Angeles fundraising event being held at UCLA, the organizers did just that by contacting AGMedia. Based in Pennsylvania, the local volunteers took charge of organizing promotional activity with the goal of raising money through increased attendance and awareness of the event.

They were in search of an outdoor advertising campaign that would be effective, affordable and could reach the Los Angeles community in a big way.  After careful consideration they decided to use a portion of their advertising budget on 200 pole banners to be installed on 100 city light poles for 30 days leading up to the event. The local volunteers chose to use design elements on the banners that are in keeping with the national advertising campaign, yet local to Los Angeles. The art showcased the features of this one day event that would appeal to Angelinos and motivate them to attend.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer help to fund critically-needed research to find better treatments and cures for children with cancer. A true success, we were delighted to see on their twitter feed the day after the event that 1 million dollars had been raised for this fantastic charity.
